A Tool kit for detecting state mismatch of MS-Windows applications or of systems simulated on MS-Windows platforms, comprising:

A test manager, enabling defining and selecting test scenarios
A state editor, for editing the simulated units and for specifying the state modules of the system components
A scenario editor, for specifying scenarios in term of inter-module state transitions
A controller, for scenario selection and for managing the inter-unit events at run-time (The controller may be integrated in a system prototype).
A tolerance viewer, for validating the system recovery action.

Continuous polling of the active states of all modules
Tracking the system situation according to a scenario, expressed as inter-module state transitions
Capturing state deviation from the scenario
Tracking the scenario changes due to the deviation
Viewing the state recovery.
