ErgoLight was
the first to develop and market award-winning tools for extracting usability
information from records of the user activity and to integrate them in suites for usability
testing. The innovative methods used in these tools are protected by patents
of the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
The first product lines were suites of tools intended
for use by usability professionals.
- The first product, introduced in 1998 was
GUI-Tester, a suite of tools for field testing
- The second product, introduced in 1999 was
LabTester, a suite of tools for usability labs.
Both suites included tools for recording the activity
of users of Windows applications, for identifying instances of user
difficulties, and for presenting them for manual analysis. The
development of these products was funded by the founders and by the Israeli
Ministry of Industry.
At the 1999 Comdex show in Israel, ErgoLight
introduced WebTester, a usability analyzer of logs of website navigation. This
tool won the Best of Comdex/ Israel.
ErgoLight current focus is
in selling reports generated by WebTester about the usability of websites and
client applications. ErgoLight integrates human
factors in the reports, which provide insight to understanding the results,
as well as hints about possible design flaws and recommendation for how to make the pages
easier to navigate.
